Riding the train will eliminate potential parking and traffic problems in the Park. The Cumberland Trail Conference is a non-profit volunteer organization that's responsible for constructing the Cumberland Trail for Tennessee State Parks. The rigorous 100-mile option, known as a century, takes riders through 3 states: Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia; and over 3 mountains: Suck Creek, Sand and Lookout. The gentler 62-mile option climbs only 1 mountain and visits 2 states. The 25-mile option bypasses the mountain and shares the last part of the route with the 62-mile riders. Hailed by cyclists as the most unique century they've ever ridden, "this year's promises to be the best ever," says Daisy Blanton of the Chattanooga Bicycle Club. <br> <br>Finley Stadium serves as the primary venue for the Challenge, which will begin Friday afternoon with the 3 State Expo at the Stadium's South Gate. The latest products and information from bicycle shops, adventure outfitters and Kellly Subaru will be available as participants pick-up their registration packets. <br> <br>Riders will depart en masse from Finley Stadium at 8am Saturday morning with cooperation from the Chattanooga Police Department, the Tennessee Department of Transportation and many other agencies to guide their way. Full rider support, refreshment stops, t-shirt and a pizza party back at Finley Stadium are all part of the event. That adage holds true as these events bring people together from all across the country and from around the world to barter and haggle over things that may have been stored in a garage or an attic somewhere for years. The home-cooked food available at the concession stand have the unmistakable Southern touch, and are one of the nicest features of the festival. Other amenities include covered, shaded seating, real toilets and showers, and grass-covered camping spots under the trees by a creek, all at a very reasonable price. </font><span style="color: windowtext;"> <p><font style="font-size: 10pt; color: windowtext;" size="3">This festival pulls regional level bands both from north and south along the <place w:st="on"> <placename w:st="on">Sequatchie </placename> <placetype w:st="on">Valley </placetype> </place>corridor. Bands and numerous talented pickers come from as far away as Livingston, <city w:st="on">Chattanooga </city>, <city w:st="on">Knoxville </city>, <city w:st="on">Bristol </city>, McMinnville, <city w:st="on"> <place w:st="on">Nashville </place> </city>, and parts unknown. There is usually especially fine jamming in the campground at night, with all the regional and semi-professional players who have converged in this central location to perform on stage during the day.
