St. Lukes Episcopal
Cleveland, TN

St. Lukes Episcopal
320 Broad Street
Cleveland , TN
423-476-5541

Prior to the 1867 construction of the present building, the parish met in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church. Known as St. Alban’s, the parish changed its name to St. Luke’s in memory of parishoner Nina Craigmiles who died on St. Luke’s Day in October of 1871 from injuries sustained in a buggy accident.  In addition to funding the construction of the Oxford movement Gothic-style church structure, the Craigmile family constructed a Carrera marble crypt in the churchyard in which to lay their daughter to rest.
