Originally built by Owen Russell Beene as the Primitive Baptist church, this fine example of late 19th century stone church architecture is in the South Pittsburg Historic District. The restored chapel is available for weddings and non-sectarian community, cultural, and artistic events. The stones were quarried in Sewanee, Tennessee and moved down the mountain by mule and wagon.

The Chapel on the Hill is open during the National Cornbread Festival the last full weekend in April, during the Christmas Tour of Homes the first Saturday in December, and by appointment.
