New Eco-Tour Adding to Aquarium Experience
Unique Boat Adventure Glides Into the Heart of Tennessee’s “Grand Canyon”
Chattanooga, Tenn. (October18th, 2007) – Unspoiled may best describe the Tennessee River Gorge located just minutes downstream from the Chattanooga Riverfront. Now a new river experience promises to help everyone enjoy this natural jewel the way it’s meant to be seen – from the water.
The Tennessee Aquarium will operate the most advanced and sophisticated boat of its size and type in the United States. This catamaran style watercraft is powered by a quad water jet propulsion system that results in a smooth ride, amazing maneuverability and speeds over 50 mph. This vessel is also designed to travel through the water in an exceedingly quiet manner with very low wake.
Up to 70 passengers will be able to enjoy the panoramic splendor of the Tennessee River Gorge through oversized windows during the two hour trip. Along the way they will have the opportunity to observe eagles, osprey and other wildlife in the fourth largest river canyon east of the Mississippi.
