Each Sunday afternoon from April 27 to December 21, local bluegrass, singer/songwriter, and old time bands are booked to play several sets during the shopping hours at the open-air farmers' market held at the First Tennessee Pavilion in Downtown Chattanooga. The Pavilion is located on Carter Street directly across from the Foundry Gate of Finley Stadium. There is plenty of free parking on the street and in several parking lots near the stadium.
Shop for your favorite seasonal vegetables and fruits, and enjoy the crafts for sale, while taking in some of the best non-professional groups in the area. The market opens at 12noon and winds down at about 5pm.
The annual 'Four Bridges Art Fair' is also held at the site, with live music and fresh food.
Suitable for large groups.
Concessions of healthful and tasty food available, as well as a variety of snacks.
Admission is free.
The Pavilion is covered, but open on the sides (up to the 4th floor level) so may be exposed to inclement weather. There is covered seating for listening to the music.
Directions: From Highway 24 West, take Highway 27 North toward Chattanooga Downtown. Exit Highway 27 North on Martin Luther King Drive exit.?At the first light?turn right (south) on Carter Street. The pavilion is on the?right side of the street?four blocks after you cross over Main Street.
