While unknown to others, to those brought up in gospel-singing pentecostal churches, the R. E. Winsett name is well known. Known for the R.E. Winsett Song Book Publishing Company that published gospel books, Winsett put out his first book, Winsett's Favorite Songs, in 1903, and published the popular Pentecostal Power, in 1907.
He lived first in

Arkansas
, then moved back to
Tennessee
after the death of his wife, and started a music publishing business in
Chattanooga
. His gospel song books became popular to the fast-growing
Church
of
God
, later headquartered in
Cleveland
,
TN
, in
Bradley
County
.
Winsett wrote many of the songs and tunes in the books. Some of his well-known works are Jesus is Coming Soon, In The Great Triumphant Morning, and When we All Get to Heaven.
