North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Park
Cut into the sandstone of Walden’s Ridge, a beautiful new state park makes up a deep gorge and spans about ten miles.
North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Park is located in Hamilton and Sequatchie counties, and it offers a wide variety of diverse wildlife.
This area was designated as a state natural area in 1999, but its popularity for activities like whitewater kayaking and trout fishing pushed the state to give it the title of state park.
The park offers over 20 miles of hiking trails, which form a portion of the 300-mile Cumberland Trail.
Upcoming plans for the park include improved parking areas, a visitor’s center, ADA viewing platform, and trail improvements.
Just 15 miles from Chattanooga, this new state park is sure to be a huge hit for tourists and locals!
